Cleaning Jerrycans

I have a Fergusson 20. It doesn't use a lot of diesel so I have a couple of 10L Jerrycans.

Now and again I'll notice bits of dirt and debris in the bottom of the Jerrycan. How can I clean this out in an environmentally friendly way?

stick a filter on your diseal tank or use a mr funnel and dont put dirt in there in the first place.

fill the jerry can by a third and shake it all about. then decant it into the other jerry can using a mr funnel. http://www.mrfunnel.com.
might take 2-3 cycles but will work.

do yourself a favour and put a filter on your diseal tank

the bottom of our tank on the davy brown developed a series of pin holes this year due to water. got the bottom all soldered and is fine now. but that is the cost of water in your fuel tank.
