Number Of Rounds Per Year

Can anybody give me a rough estimate for the number of rounds a non-members golf course needs to have in Ireland to be commercially viable.

In (year round) warm weather climates, I believe one would need roughly 40,000 individual rounds per year, which equates to about 110 paying rounds per day.

Given that the golfing season is not the full year - what would the number be in Ireland.
My guess is about half the above i.e circa 20/25k rounds per year.

Lots of factors, I know, cost of maintenance in a warm weather climate v's Irelands etc. Just looking for a rough estimate.

Multiply the number of blades of grass on the 18th green by the number of shanks hit on the 7th hole and divide by God's handicap, then you'll have the exact answer.

Seriously dude it's not rocket science, if you don't know that the formulae is as simple as you work out your yearly expenditure, then determine your green fee rate and divide the former by the later and you'll have your answer, it's probably best you don't go into the golf course owning industry.
