Adjusting rear brakes mk1 focus

On a mk1 focus with rear drums what is the handiest way to adjust the brakes without having to remove drum if there is one?

Even if I have to remove the drum do I push in or pull out the little adjuster plate to obtain more brake power?

I looked at the back plate and I dont see any holes to insert say a screwdriver like other cars have to easily adjust the brakes.

    Cheers
