Put up an ad on Done Deal and adverts recently but have not had many calls.

I'm wondering is it because the price is too high?

    Peugeot 407

    2005

    1.6HDI

    Just over 100K miles

    NCT 02/15
    Tax 08/14

In good condition and I've put up lots of pictures.

    €3250.

Having a similar issue. Got some advice here on what to put in the add, but nothing other than a few people looking to lower price before viewing..

2500, what's the price range on Donedeal for 05 407?

Are there any from 2006 or 2007 cheaper than yours?

There are 3 pages of 407's for sale for less than your asking so 40-50 cheaper cars, if even half these have NCT and similar mileage then you could be in for a long wait to sell, realistically if you want to sell quick you should be asking about €2300 ONO

I have the same year 407 but 180k miles on the clock and in SE spec and was offered 2.5k towards a trade in from a Peugeot Garage a couple of weeks ago. Same ballpark NCT expiry time too. Don't think you're too far off the mark with your pricing but maybe too many similar models out there I reckon.

That's a trade in though....garages are notorious for giving you more for your car as a trade in and counter it by charging you a higher price to trade up.

What price you get offered as a trade-in has very little bearing on the price of selling privately. The dealer can distort trade-in values to make them look attractive while just adding it back onto the price of the car you are trading it in against.

OP, your asking price is too high, this is an example of what you are up against:

That car seems good value alright although 8000 miles more, a months less NCT and no mention of tax.

I've reduced the price now to under €3000 which would be the lowest I'd be willing to sell it for.

If it sells well and good if not I'll just keep it.

No point in selling for peanuts

The mileage/NCT difference is nothing. Unfortunately if there's people selling for 2500 on donedeal (and not marked as sold after 9 days...) you're not going to have much look at 3000.

If you're not terribly pushed to sell, and you'll get a few more years out of it, then keep it.

Emigrating in a couple of months. Going to put my car up on donedeal.ie. Anybody hsave any idea how much I should ask or it? There are very few other similar cars of this mileage up on donedeal so difficult to compare.
    The car is a 2007, BMW 520 sport, diesel. 2L. 190,000 miles.
in excellent condition a lot of miles though so I wonder is it worth anything??!!

Is it the 163bhp version or 177bhp version. Pre facelifted or facelifted, manual or auto? How much NCT is left on it? Any extras like leather, sat nav, etc.

Mileage is fairly high to what your average Joe will be used to or expecting.

I'm not sure if it's 163bhp or 177bhp version. Manual. NCT until April 2015. Two - tone upholstery (leather/cloth). no sat nav.
    Not facelifted. Dublin Registration.
Thanks bazz26, -as you can see, I'm not a car expert!
