NCT test

I am due to do an nct test in early July. Should i simply drop the car into the test centre, get the list of whats wrong with it. Then bring the list to the garage, have the car fixed and resubmit the car to the nct centre. Or should i bring the car to the garage first? It' an 06 Focus.

While it would seem a better idea to run the car through a pre NCT in a garage, it can often be cheaper to test it, fix the faults and retest.

Cover the obvious stuff first. Bulbs, fluids, tyres etc. Then put it through the test. Retest is only 28 euro. You could spend multiples of that at a pre-test and it may still fail for something they miss.

If you are going to drop it in and see how it gets on, the most important thing for anyone to check is that their dipp beams are working and are fitted correctly as its the only bulb that will cost you a 28€ retest.
