So I was driving home from work last evening minding my own business when I saw three potential babes dressed for the weather walking.
As I approached I beeped the horn to get a look and they turned around and started shouting and swearing, one threw a can of what only could have been a can of beer at the car.
Luckily I was driving and was able to make a quick get away.
Are we being taken over by scum or are is this now the norm?

Lol. Cheers for making my morning. Some people might say you got what you deserved by disrespecting them by beeping your horn at them. Next time slow down and when you drive past them use your mirrors to grab a look.

It's possible to glance at someone without making them shiver to their very core. Which is what I think may be happening in your scenario.

You can look. If the look turns to staring. It's not appreciated. If it turns to leering it's not appreciated. Cat calling, wolf whistling, yelling comments and honking your horn are no goes. Basically I want to be able to put on a pair of shorts, a skirt or a nice summery dress without worrying about the resulting type of attention it's going to get. I don't need someone honking a horn at me to tell me I look good. I will not say thank you to that.

You somehow made that out to be that you can't look at women at all.

Of course you can look at women but there's a line between "looking at" and "leering at". Leering at = being a perv which that, combined with how the OP phrased it (he beeped at her to get a better look) and in response to this she flung a can at him, you seemed to think the OP was completely innocent in this situation.

Secondly, calling someone a white knight for pointing out that you can look without being a pervert is f**king childish and just makes you seem like you want to argue for the sake of arguing.
