    Hey,

I will be living in Bunbury in western Australia for the next 6 months. Thinking in my spare time learning to fly. If I was to get a PPL in Australia can I only use the PPL in Australia?

Would anyone be able to recommend a flight school in WA around Perth or Bunbury? Also would it be a lot cheaper doing in Australia as opposed to Ireland?

The EASA has standardized rules on conversion since a few months ago - but I can't find them right now. I believe there's some exams involved as well as another medical and a higher minimum hours rule (100 comes to mind).

With Australia's weather, getting those 100 hours will likely be easier and possibly cheaper than here though.

There is a flying school at Bunbury airport.

According to their website the average cost of getting a PPL is just over $20k.

With the lovely weather, the temps can get very high. Have heard of pilots being grounded for weeks on end with beautiful clear skies. The high temps exceed the maximum operating temps on alot of training aircraft. Look at your time there coming into their summer, could mess up your plans to finish.

No he won't. It's winter in southern hemisphere so he's unlikely to get high temperatures that would exceed the operating limits of aircraft. Although towards the end of his 6 months, it will be summer

0 Celsius in Perth this morning, can't see high temps being a problem but clear skies may be if you're going in the near future.
