97 1.4 Corsa, 177km.

Generally runs well but on Thursday the engine started getting hot without cooling. I stopped and there was steam escaping from the pipe connected to the radiator. By the look of it, it was a lose connection between the pipe and the radiator. The band tightening the pipe is also a bit corroded. I topped up the coolant and took it to a garage.

Got a call yesterday telling me in fact it was the radiator which was leaking and they quoted me €500. I politely refused and collected the car this evening, drove 4k home watching the temperature the whole way and it was fine.

I'm well aware that in Ireland a 97 Corsa can be bought for pocket change, but I'm in France and unfortunately used cars cost much much more. So the plan is to buy a radiator and install it myself. Has anyone here of limited mechanical experience undertaken this? Am I deluding myself thinking I can do it myself? I have the Haynes manual.

This looks like the right one, but I must confirm before, ordering. Is this a crock of sh*t or is it actually possible to buy a radiator for that little?
