Do you need to change trains travelling from Dunboyne to Connolly?

    I apologise if this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find a definative answer.

    Anyone who uses the train from Dunboyne, do you need to change trains in Clonsilla (or indeed anywhere!)?

    Pretty sure you do. Peak commuting times, the trains from M3/Dunboyne run into Docklands, meaning you need to switch at Clonsilla or any station between there and Broombridge (nobody wants to change there). Off peak, on the other hand, AFAIK there is just a shuttle between M3 and Clonsilla (and virtually no services to Docklands), and you have to change at Clonsilla to get any further. Either way, I don't think that there is a normal service running from one to the other.

    Thanks the reply. I didn't acutally realise the trains ran to the docklands, that would suit better than Connolly, I just assumed that was as far as it went.

    It depends upon the time of day.

    Basically in the morning and evening peak Monday/Friday, all trains from Dunboyne run direct to Docklands - if you want to go to Connolly you can either walk from Docklands station or change at Clonsilla.


    There are three direct services to Connolly from Dunboyne at 09:43, 19:08 and 19:38 Monday/Friday.


    Outside that, and all day at weekends it is an hourly shuttle to/from Clonsilla where you must change.

    That's interesting! I didn't realise there were still direct services to Connolly - I thought all involved the shuttle to Clonsilla apart from the Docklands bound services.

    They're really positioning journeys to get the sets back to Connolly.
