Ok... The family buggered off to Australia a couple of years ago. This year I decided to go and see them, get some Sun, and Ozzy hospitality.

Unfortunately, I cannot go this year now, something has come up.

    I booked through ebookers a flight w/ethiad.

I declined travel insurance when booking 6 weeks ago & don't have personal travel insurance.

    Due to travel late September.

How do I get a refund or a voucher ?

    Thanks for the help !

You Don't , You may get the TAX though but that will have a High Admin fee

Even if you had taken out insurance, it would require one of a defined set of events to happen before you could claim for not being able to travel, this would usually involves a sudden illness or death of a close relative or one of the people you intended to travel with. Given that the intended flight is three months away, it doesn't sound like you'd have any basis for a claim even with travel insurance.

Check the terms and conditions of your booking, should be on your confirmation email. At that price it's pretty likely you booked a non refundable fare so tax is as much as you'd get back

Thanks guys, what about transferring to another flight later in the year ?

The admin fee to cancel or change was €25.00 on ebookers but the supplier could take 100% which would be flight cost.

Your best bet is to get on to ebookers.

Nobody here knows the basis of your booking for sure. If you pick up the phone or e-mail them and ask, "if I was to change the dates of my travel to [insert date here], what is the total cost to change?", at least you'll have a definitive answer. They'll probably also advise you of the length of validity of the cost quoted.

depends on whether the ticket you purchased was refundable or non refundable

This. Ebookers can tell you their admin charges to change the ticket but the carriers cost will depend on when/where you want to travel to. E-bookers are usually able to get this info for you in under 10 minutes the 2 times that I've contacted them to change flights (via the Web chat app).

ebookers can be quite reasonable. I had to cancel flights and accomadation for a trip to the uk and the girl on the phone was incrediably helpful. Ended up losing the cost of one night (instead of 5) accommodation.

No, you can't. A chargeback doesn't cover these circumstances.
