Finished college and bored

    Hi everyone,

I have finished my degree in college and I have no idea what I want to do now. I find myself wasting my days doing absolutely nothing and I feel quite miserable. I barely leave the house cause I do not have anywhere to go. A lot of my friends are busy doing their own thing either working or doing their own hobbies. The only hobby I really have is going to the gym but that would only get me out of the house for 2 hours or so. I look outside and the day is so nice and I end up spending it inside. I find it very hard to push myself to get outside the house.

I decided it would be good to start applying for jobs but it seems quite difficult. A lot of the applications (even for grad positions) require a lot of experience that I do not have. They ask for people with a 1.1 degree or 2.1 and although I have not gotten results I dont believe I have achieved this mark. Another worry I have is my poor communication skills. I do not believe that anyone would want to hire me due to my anxiety problems.

Any advise regarding these issues would be helpful.

Apart from saying look for a job, there are plenty of charities who would love to have you for a few hours a week.

Volunteering would help with your communication skills.
Nothing like helping others to take us out of ourselves and give a day some purpose.
Continue going to the gym, exercise is great, and you could apply for a range of jobs. They dont have to be related to your course, just to get you started.

    Good luck

Apply for as many jobs as you can. Put down predicted 2.1 on your CV.
