No offence but they are useless. They are DK publications based on the UK flora and fauna and not even good at that. I have seen them and to be honest they would just confuse kids.

Worse than that, they would misinform kids if they are of the quality of many past DK publications. Many that I looked at in the past had either out of date information or content that was just plain wrong.

Hmmm, I've nothing against DK publications per se. I have a a DK published book on vegetable growing written by the RHS and it's excellent in all regards.

This looks like the book - as a relative newbie it looks ok to me and for €2.99 can you really go that wrong?

Ok, I bought it and it isn't great. It's grand for €2.99 and has some pointers of what to look out for in order to make an indentification but it's not very comprehensive at all. ie. I was at the canal earlier and saw a moorhen. First thought - I'll double check that's what it is. Not in the book. I would have thought it was common enough to be included. Also a fair few birds that aren't resident to UK/Ireland are in there which seems strange for an RSPB book.
