Hey just looking for some information around this.

So myself and my girlfriend had a little boy back in Feb.
My gf cliams her Childrens allowance for him and her daughter who is 4...

I work in Belfast but we both live in Donegal.

So I have just bought a house and we are going to moving in together as soon as it is all ready, I am hoping at the latest Septemeber.

So my gf will not be working she will be a full time Mum, I will be the only source of income.

I work however in the UK.
I was talking to someone about this and they talked about claiming Childrens allowance from the UK and something to do with tax credits..

Has anyone done this or know what the story is around it?

    Thanks.

Just more info on this and from what I have been told which I am not sure is true.

So I do not qualify for the tax credits as I earn over 40 Sterling a year.
I think if I claim for both children I qualify for 400 a year for both. (childrens allowance)

So 33 sterling or 41 yoyos.

So as I am from the state and live in the state I think or at least this is how it was explained to me:

I claim the 41 euro from the uk government a month.
In Ireland I would be entitled to 260 euro a month.

They deduct the 41 from the 260 leaving 219.
    So UK give me 41
Ireland make up the rest 219

    Is that how it works?
