    Hello Forum,

I rent room in apartment, problem is that tenants arguing and going to divorce they gave me about one month to move out. I am unemployed and claiming jobseeker's allowance. But I have no savings to pay deposit and any rent up front, my money is very tight. Do you know where can I get any help if possible? I don't think I would be able to save money and find suitable space to rent. What should I do? Is it possible to ask help from state so I don't end up on street?

Kindly thanks in advance for answers.

Go and see the Community Welfare Officer tomorrow. I'd also ask the SVP for help as well. Are you claiming Rent Allowance?

No I don't leech or anything, only thing I claim is unemployment. Thanks very much that seems most valid option.

Admirable sentiments, but if you're unemployed how on earth are you paying the rent? And how do you think you're going to pay rent and bills on your new place??

Rent Allowance is money towards your rent. I'd be claiming it. And also the Fuel Allowance. It's not much at E20, and runs from October to April. But believe me, every little helps. Go to the Local Authority offices and put your name down on the housing list. It will facilitate your claim for the Rent Allowance if you need it.

Eh-no matter how divided this country gets, I certainly would never think of someone trying to keep a roof over their head, even using rent allowance, and food in their mouth, a leech.

Ive had to do it before myself to live, and Id do it again in the morning if I had to.
