Windows wont recognise a new hard drive, any help?

    So I recently took apart an old upc box and put its 320gb hd in my desktop, however windows doesn't recognise it and I can't format it. It presumably still has the upc os on it. I have lookes in the bios and I can see the hd but still windows wont show it, any help ia greatly appreciated

    Go into disk management, format it and assign a letter.
