Just recently grown to love cycling. I'm currently using a friends bike but looking at buying my own first time bike. Nothing too expensive, too high tech. Just an all round solid road bike for going on general 30km and 40km cycles.

My local bike shop is selling the following bike for €700 and i like it.
    I'm 6ft 2", 14 stone, leg length 34.5".
Please check link and any tips or advice would be appreciated. http://www.bikeradar.com/road/gear/category/bikes/road/product/review-merida-race-lite-900-13-46815/

    Is it light enough?

Iv had my merida for over a year now and I'm very happy with it. Iv the ride lite which is a more upright riding position but the same specs as above. The only annoyance I have is the shifters which have the tumb button to shift up a gear. Its pretty annoying after a while having to move your hand when on the drop bars. All in all they are a good bike for the price considering what you would pay new for a entry level trek or scott and are alot lighter than the carrera tdf. The real value for money is in second hand bikes some maybe browse adverts, here or donedeal.
