Waterford Airport - ID required for Britain?

I'm looking at the possibility of booking a flight for my mother from Waterford to Birmingham, departing next week. She doesn't have a passport (and won't be able to get one in time), but has a valid driving licence.

Looking at the FlyBe website, it appears that the driving licence would be acceptable photo ID for travel (it's listed as OK for UK to Ireland travel, so I assume the reverse would be true), but can anyone with experience of using one tell me for definite?

An in date drivers license will do no problem.
