See Jazzpunk in the upcoming deals. If its around $5 I will bite

I checked out that site. So gog obviously specialise in selling older 'classic games'.
Would many of these games not have problems running on modern hardware/OS?

i think their thing is that they are optimised for running on newer os. they specify the os on each description and its generally xp, vista and 7.

took the plunge on jazzpunk at $7.49 and might get indigo prophecy next when its online. shouldnt be more than $3 i reckon

I'm tempted to buy the wing commander games, having never played them but heard a lot about them.

The Legacy of Kain pack.... do I dont I. I played Soul Reaver 2 and liked it, but wondering if the other games and/or story would be worth the investment of time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,081 ✭✭✭✭mrcheez

Cheers forgot about this. Ordered Wing Commander Saga for €6.84.

I've been waiting to play WC3 since '94 but my 386DX couldn't cut it ;)

Legacy of Kain has a great story, from what Ive heard, only ever played SR1.

Was gonna wait to see if the complete collection showed up cheap on the Steam Sale tomorrow but I couldn't resist $6 for the lot, first purchase on GoG...its all downhill and bankruptcy after this, isn't it!! :(

I don't know if gog is winding down the sale but some seriously good bundle deals (75%-80% on many of the big game series on the site) today/tonight plus a free game - Magrunner.

    DO IT.

At least wiki the story of Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain first obviously. The only one which I'd worry about playing now, given your concern with time investment, is Blood Omen 2 but that shouldn't stop you from playing the rest of them should you choose to skip it. Not that I recommend doing that either but then again I'm extremely biased on the issue. :)

I'd get them just to listen to Tony Jay's elder god voice. Seriously, it does things to me.

I love the shotgun in this game!

Just playing through the first couple of levels now. It's surprisingly ahead of its time in terms of interactivity. All coming back to me now. :)

Am mighty tempted by the Commandos/Desperados bundle, last game in both series may by s***e but Comm 1+2 and Desp 1 are true classics, gametype we never seen much of anymore.

Gog are handing out some free games over the next 24 hours and are still doing some great discounts on the current offers such as The Witcher 2 for $4.00!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,560 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Yeah got Still Life 2 and Omerta for free. Wonder what others will turn up, while I'm awake. 2 to go but still about17 hours to go, I think.

    May bite on Fahrenheit

Wtf?!? Do they normally give away free games or was it because I bought Wing Commander earlier?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,242 ✭✭✭Moon54

Rumours on Reddit suggest it may be Alan Wake's American Nightmare & Torchlight. :)

Everyone gets the free game. But don't question it. :) 3 mins left of Still Life 2.

I already have Alan Wake so won't need that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,560 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

    Yep, Torchlight is now free.

    Everyone grab Torchlight ASAP!

Ah it's a nifty advertising ploy to pull you away from steam :)

Alan Wake's American Nightmare is on the "Coming soon..."

I already have it on Xbox, so prolly won't bother if it's free, but tis v enjoyable

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,560 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

It's free now for just under 20 more mins. Must've been something wrong that it didn't go free earlier

I also see it's on the humble bundle weekly sale as well. Looks like I'll be getting it since they're so keen to sell it to me.

bought Gansters: Organised Crime for 2 quid for nostalgia reasons. Hope it gets added to the win8 list at some stage for my laptop, but will enjoy getting it going on my old pc for the while. Always really wanted some form of android version

Amnesia: Dark Descent is coming up. If that's 80-90% off I'm there!

I loved Outlast, so I take it this one is supposed to be better?

UPDATE: 80% but the price went up from 9.99 to 19.99... hate it when they do that. I'll wait for the 90% as I've got a backlog to play through in the meantime.

it's a bit like Steam - all the games get reductions so amnesia was reduced from 19.99 to 9.99 so 50% off full pricem then it gets the flash sale of 75% off which brings it to 4.99.

BTW I got the two amnesia games for €6.50 a few days ago on the steam sale so keep an eye on there too.

It was at 90% on Gog previously so I'll create an alert on isthereanydeal.com ... I'm not in any rush to get it now
