    You could try posting on a horse racing forum in the hope that people would pm you but then again you might get reported.

    depends on how you despense your tips, online then best to advertise online;
    phone service then maybe racing post

    Post your back-tested results on twitter along with the odd free tip, there are any number of gullible fools out there, you'd be surprised.

    well its a mate of mine who was involved in the industry and still has a lot of very good contacts there, he gives me tips and they are very very good, i said to him he should set up a tipster service but neither of us have a clue how to get people to sign up to it, i wonder would a flyer drop at race courses be a good idea?

    Throw a few up here and see do they hit or miss for a trial?

    You hardly expect people to sign up to pay for tips because you say your friend is good. The only way to get people interested is a free trial for a few weeks or something. Expecting people to give you money because you say he is good is really foolish why would anybody take the word of somebody on the internet without proof.

    Ive marketed a few of these in the past. Again it depends how the tips are sent / recieved by the customer. For phoneline service the newspaper ads generally work better. The so called w**k ads on the racing page of the star or sun are there because they are put up on a bookmakers wall.
    Leaflet drop is not allowed on course as it is potential litter , if it an online service a leaflet of any description is a waste of time as there is no click button to link a site on a leaflet

    The advertising is key in this as you will constanly have to alter your space to update previous winners etc. Most of these services fail due to bad advertising as alot of people use and pay for these services.
    Just take a look at some of the advertising and how they place their product

    thanks for the info, he gathered that having a website is probably the easiest with a membership, people pay a monthly membership and if they feel the bets are good enough they can keep subscribing, if not they just unsub, what would be the best may to market that type of service?
