Has anyone noticed that the general radio reception for RTE1 radio in the city centre is getting worse by the day. This is especially bad if you are using your phone's radiom. All the other stations are grand. Are RTE driving everyone to DAB even though all smart phones use digital radio apps or FM?

On FM in Dublin, reception is usually available on both 88.5 and 89.1. That said in the City Centre, DAB reception can be better.

FM in Dublin comes from Three Rock and Kippure. DAB in Dublin would only be coming from Three Rock.

Three Rock has RTE R1 on 88.5 and Kippure has it on 89.1. 88.5 should be better in the south and city centre, and seeing as it's coming from the same site as DAB it shouldn't be any worse (apart from multipath etc.)
