    Quick question.
im familiar with the permit setup in general. 3 parts, one for departure herd, one for destination and one to send to department.
my question. Brother recently got a calf from a dealer and he just arrived with an a4 sheet that appears to be from electronic registration system that dealers use. It was marked as destination herd copy which all sounds good but in the small price at the bottom it said it was responsibility of destination herd owner to notify movement to registration database.
Does he have to do anything?
    Is this standard practice nowadays?

Never seen what kind of form dealers have but I'd imagine it's something similar to that of a knackery, maybe not, I don't think he has anything to do now

yes the dealer or previous owner must have gotten the movement permit on line. When i sell any animal I make sure the movement part is posted myself that way i know its done. If you are not registered on agfood you could ring cattle movements office in cork quoting the reference number on the movement permit and just check that it went through, just to be sure

If the permit was obtained from SWS, then it will be a single perforated form which can be separated as you describe.

If it was obtained online from agfood, then the permit consists of 3 A4 pages.

Yes I take it brother got 1 page of the 3 page online permit as it said it was the destination copy.
I guess it would be no harm to check up to see if animal went into herd anyway.

    Quick Question
There was a Movement permit created about a month ago.
On the day, 1 of the animals could not be moved, & was not transferred.
The animal is now ready to be transferred, is a new permit needed? or can the original be used?

I know it's not to the letter of the law but for the sake of 1 day would you chance moving anyhow ?

I assume if that one is out of date it's void so just apply for a new one on agfood then, it will either say it's approved or else it will give a reason why not. Can print it straight away then, I think anyway
