    Hi

Today i was left a voicemail by eircom that I am eligible for fibre broadband with speeds up to 100mb. After calling back, it turns out that the max speed on my line is only 12mb. For me, this is a disappointing speed so I am prepared to shop around. I currently have no Broadband package so i am open to other options. I had a look on the likes of vodafone and magnet.ie and according their "online dsl test" I can get speeds up to 70/100mg.

My question is ,am i wasting my time looking for an alternative to eircom? If eircom are saying the maximum speed on the line is 12mb will that be the max speed on other providers? I understand they use the same lines

    Thanks
    Shane

Its all the same lines. Make sure that 12Mb is the fibre speed and not the ADSL speed. If its the fibre speed thats the best you'll get unless upc is or becomes available to you.
