SUSI application rejected, any advice?

Hi, first-time poster (long-time lurker) here. I'm in a bit of trouble, I've been rejected by SUSI twice now and have to pay a €2500 registration fee at the tech I'm going to. Here's the story:

-applied for Level 6 course at LYIT
-turns out course start has been bumped up to June instead of September
-dont qualify through SUSI because of incomplete Level 8 in the UK (funded entirely by UK student finance btw)
-€2500 fee due within two weeks

I've appealed once and got rejected on the grounds that the course I'm starting isn't a progression from the incomplete Level 8. Tomorrow I'm leaving the SOLAS course I'm currently on to apply for BTEA before Monday when the course at LYIT starts. Getting this kind of money together within a few weeks isn't possible, and I dont know what to do. Can someone please give me some advice? Thanks.

I'm not sure there is much you can do.

    The options possible are
1 try and find a family member to get a loan from
2 Try and get a bank loan
3 See if LYIT can take instalments
4 See if LYITSU can offer advice

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Thanks Joey. #3 is probably my best chance then, and my family wont see me short but I'd rather not put them through that.

Any idea if the previous higher education will be an issue for the BTEA too? This thing seems to follow me everywhere I go.

Talk to the LYITSU - SUs can often offer good advice

First day at tech today, asked about paying registration fees in installments and they said it was no issue. They even had forms prepared for it! Stuff like this should really be on their website for all to see. Hopefully it's the same at other techs too for people in my situation.
