Insulation Overkill?

So i got up into the attic of our new house and i can see 200mm of wool rolled between the joists. Tonight i rolled 150 the opposite way.

Tomorrow i will be getting more of the 150mm in work and i was going to roll it back the opposite way again. I have been told there will be more insulation towards the end of the job that i can have. Is there much point in rolling it out and having 650mm perhaps even 800mm there? What is the cut off point on insulation?

    Thanks.

MF you must know by now the answer can be worked out by math :) if you really want this answer.....
Without the above I'd say 500mm

after 400mm, is it not a bit pointless.

You will actually get a build up of moisture with too much insulation and do more harm then good.

not my words, i read that on boards so prob a load of cobblers.
