hi, wondering if anybody out there can help. My father died a few years ago and sadly he left a lot of debt behind. His death was sudden and his affairs were not in order. His will was over 20 years old and all was left to our mother who by time of his death was(and still is) a chronic alcoholic. nothing has changed since except that she is trying to sell the family home to further fund her habit. I know legally all is hers but is there anything we can do to stop this.

Were the unmarried members of family given a right of residence in the house? This would block her trying to sell the house. Like any poster here you will always be advised to get a solicitors advice. There is the health issue here that might open a line to stop the sale

Thanks for your help Santa Cruz. Brother lives in house and has done all his life. He is unmarried but nothing documented with regards of residency rights. I will get in touch with a solicitor. Thanks again
