Nice. If real... Not saying it isn't but how can you tell? That's the problem with Rolex(though others are affected too), the fakes are getting too good. It's a complete minefield. The Rolex vintage market has similar problems. QV that recent story of the pop star bloke with a million dollar collection, some of which turned out to be dodgy, a couple of which Rolex themselves initially passed off as OK. I dunno if folks saw the antiques roadshow piece on spot the fake watches. Even there their panel of experts incorrectly stated the JLC fake never existed as a real one. A couple of US pawn shop chains have made it policy to avoid taking in luxury watches because the fakes have gotten too good for their average in house expert to verify. Mad stuff.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I suppose it could be a Bamford special - Bamford do have a stockist in Monaco and perhaps it might be possible to check it out directly with the shop. I've no idea what, if any, relationship with Rolex they have but, given that the case has been PVDed/DLCed/Plasti Dipped/Hammerited* it's unlikely to have had a full pressure test as only Rolex can do them. I do accept, however, that the requirements for a 3900m depth rating on the 2nd floor of the Monégasque Bourse are probably slender. It's a classic lesson in, if you're going to buy a Rolex that you may need to liquidate then don't feck around with it unless you can get Rolex to do it themselves (Middle East potentates being a case in point).

Looks to me like a Pro Hunter and as Cyrus has stated not in its original box . Its not a Sea Dweller but a DSSD . The seller does not seem to know too much about it , plus the fact that ProHunter don't have a retailer in Monte Carlo , I'd be a bit dubious about it . Plus the pearl looks "Off" ...

also the most expensive of watches, always have the worst photographs. its almost as if the seller doesn't want you to look too close.

"withdrawn due to lack or reply"

which really means Cyrus questions are ones I can't answer so therefore he knows I am a fake

I would be very slow to buy the likes of a Rolex from an unknown source - as has been said, the fakes are getting seriously impressive. Sometimes you see threads on other forums where even ADs aren't too sure if a watch is the real deal or not. And that's before the poor advert, sketchy details, seemingly limited/modified edition etc.

Anyway, that's totally my only reason for not buying a load of Rolexes (Rolices?)

25k watch? and a brand new member on adverts, sorry tbf they have a feedback score of 1.

also click on the photos to see them in all their stunning glory. maybe adverts mods could introduce a minimum feedback score before you are allowed sell high value items.

as i mentioned before there seems to be loads of these 80s style rolexes turning up on adverts.

I think we've all over-looked the most important detail. Who would want to buy a used watch from somebody with the username hand shandy.

There was a offer of 22K on it and it was accepted !!!

in fairness, the buyer is flogging a few things to buy it, like his Xbox, FIFA 14 and a couple of controllers and the biggie...his 2000 Ford Focus Saloon :p

He's selling his watch though, so clearly needs a new one.
