Gaa on sky sports

The parents have the sky + HD box and just the basic channel package. Bout 22 euro a month job.

Regarding the gaa on sky, is it possible to just get the one channel that broadcasts the gaa matches, i.e. They don't want to get the sky sports package with all the other sky sports channel, they just want the specific channel showing the gaa............and in fact they only want that channel whilst the matches are on.

So to sum up, they only want sky to watch the GAA MATCHES.

Does one have to buy the whole bloody sky sports package.

Is there a pay per view setup

What would be the cheapest way to get the gaa matches only on sky ?

No, it's part of the Sports package

Ah sugar. So essentially, for the purposes of watching a few hours of gaa during the summer, one has to fork out for the whole sky sports package and probably sign up for a year.

How much roughly is the sky sports package for a month ? About 40 euro extra is it ?

If you already have Sky you can ring them up and bargain for a deal for 3/6 months

Yeah, suppose, but sounds like only a shirt term solution.........as when the 3/6 month deal is finished, all the months going forward will be charged full whack.

full sky sports packages is €36 per month

I had sky sports from 6.5.14 to 7/6/14 for spanish football's season climax

its tv3's coverage with sky hype graphics

most of the best GAA is still with rte

save your money as RTE has the highlights of the sky's games

    feckin saucy enough.

You wont be tied to any contract (other than the 1 month's cancellation notice) by adding Sports. It is, as stated, €36 extra per month but you can add it and ring in a month before the semis and cancel.

And yes you can try a bit of haggling also. :)

He doesn't know what he's talking about. It's actually GAA with good presenters and a decent panel who are actually at the game in a studio speciality by Sky. The camerawork is top class and it looks brilliant in HD with great sound.

My girlfriends parents don't have Sky so they watched it at my house and were blown away by the coverage.

I used to have just Sky sport 1 ....costs considerably less so it can be done if you ask, but then you won't really know which channel the GAA is going to be on each time

The GAA will be on Sky Sports 3. Sky announced this when they got the rights. I don't think it was ever possible to subscribe to just Sky Sports 3. I know you could subscribe to just Sky Sports 1 or 2

Yeah, good point raised, but looks like only on sky sports 3

But as yee say, you cant get sky sports 3 just on its own or do pay per view, have to get the whole bloody package

I think you can sign up for 24 hours via the their web service (Sky Go) for about a tenner.

I'm not sure, I've never used it to be honest, I've heard lads in work using it for Heineken Cup weekends though so it must be available here.

Ah ****e, just read it again :

Big match? No Sky Sports? No problem. Pay As You Go Sky Sports is here. The Sky Sports Day Pass lets you watch all six channels for 24 hours for just £9.99. So whether it's Football, Golf, Formula 1®, Tennis or Rugby, you can pick and choose, dip in and dip out. There's no contract. Just sport. Available in UK only.

Non-subscribers can also watch GAA games by downloading the Sky Sports TV app where they can receive all six Sky Sports channels for €13.99 per month.

So one can get sky sports via the web for 13.99 a month

but its 36 Euro to do it on the physical sky box

strange pricing seeing as most people can stream to their TV's etc

Think streaming from the app to TV is disabled.

It is blocked with iOS devices for sure

I pay a fiver a month for "all" the sports channels on the net (there's movies there too) not sure if I can post the link here, is closed registration now I think anyway......there's also mobdro android app which does them all at no cost

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,178 ✭✭✭STB

You can also watch on a TV through an Xbox 360 which worked excellently when I used it
