Doesn't look like we'll be seeing the aftermath in King's Landing this week, and the episode will focus exclusively on events at The Wall.

I'm so looking forward to this, should be some fun battle scenes!

I'm wondering if people will be pissed at the whole episode being set at the Wall, I'd say a lot of the non readers will want to know what happens to Tyrion and having to wait a week might not go down well:pac:

    Looking good.

Next week will likely be the most eventful episode of the series to date by a long shot:

Tyrion's escape featuring Tywin, Shae, Jaime and Varys.
Arya to Braavos and her goodbye to the Hound.
    Bran and co. meet TCOTF.
Probably some Iron Islands/Asha scenes (Balon's death?).
    Stoneheart.

And possibly Stannis' offer to Jon and/or start of the election.

Jaysus they could nearly make a full season out of that episode..

People are going nuclear over on Westeros.org that Stannis didn't arrive:pac:

    Some guy posted this about it claiming that they're ruining Stannis;
This episode and the preview for the next one locks in what I've said about TV Stannis since the beginning. He is one of the shows villians, he's not going to save the wall. Jon Snow will be negotiating with Mance about bringing the Wildlings across because the Others are coming and then boom Stannis heavy cavalry comes in and massacres a bunch of Wildlings. It's sad the show watchers are doing this with a character like Stannis but I am very confident in my analysis at this point.

Fcuking exactly what happens in the book:pac:

On another note; it appears that Brienne does lock horns with the Hound next week based on the trailer, you can see her armour.

That episode was amazing. Perfectly done.

There is no way there will be a long election for lord commander. It'll be between slynt and snow At the start of next season or will be simply unanimous at the end of this.

Ser Alliser is definitely still alive as far as I'm concerned.

Great episode as far as effects go that director is awesome. WTF with killing Grenn and Pyp though and Ser Alliser turning out as a hero type, HBO are bastards of the Ramsey Snow level.

    Ah here what?

Stannis is one of the few likeable characters left and if they ruin him in the TV show its going to make it all the worse. That was brilliant in the book.

Looks like the Hound dies in the last episode of this season. Puts to bed the monk theory if it happens the way its rumoured.

    TV show spoiler:
Looks like Brienne kills him next week according to some

The first 10-20 minutes of the episode weren't great imo, felt a bit like a bad soap opera at times but once it got going it was everything you'd want it to be even if far too many night's watchmen were dying for senses sake. Sam starting to look somewhat useful I guess and Jon a bit more in line with book Jon. I hope Dolorous Edd is king at the end :p

    Grenn?

He was becoming such a good character.

Did he die here in the book? I know Donal Noye originally held the inbreeding gate in the book.

Grenn is still alive in the books

This was one of the greatest things I've ever seen :D

I can't believe that both Pyp and Grenn died. I mean one fair enough but both of them is pretty crap! It's funny how they tried to make the audience cheer for Ser Alliser over Tormund in their duel, that's all kinds of wrong :pac:

No Stannis is very disappointing but holy hell next week is going to be the biggest episode of like ever. Ever!

I thoroughly enjoyed it and I'm glad that show Sam has become kinda badass, or well not that craven anyway. Could have done with less Gilly/loveydovey scenes. The talk with Aemon was brilliant too :)

Leaves a massive plot hole open now too, how the **** is Jon to be voted Lord Snow if HBO are killing off all his friends, There were two attacks on the wall in the books though, one by the small group and the other by the full force of the wildlings, the first was to test the wall and it's defences, towards the end of the second was when Ser Alliser and Slint lower Jon down the wall to treat with Mance, as usual everything got spliced together, while Jon is in the tent with Val and Dalla; Stannis is capturing Mance and defeating the wildling army, there is way too much to fit in in one hour next week so I think some of this may happen in the first episodes of next season.

This was the test by Mance. The full scale one will probably be what leads to Stannis showing up in time to save the day.

Imagine though if the last episode ends with Stannis' force appearing in the distance, cue the end credits :pac:

It's weird that they killed off Grenn, but what a badass way to do it.

Think we will see a cliff hanger of the large army attacking or getting the upper hand. Or the scenes will end with stannis arriving and not much more.

So much more to happen next week away from the wall!

The promo for the finale seems to show/hint at horses going through the Forrest around the wildlings so hopefully we get to see Stannis' men rout them

I've just remembered what I was most looking forward to in the whole battle: Setting the stairs on fire in that last desperate act to keep them at bay.

Gutted that they left that out, forgot while I was watching but yeah that would have been cool to see.

Guess Stannis showing up will be next week? I really hope they don't push stuff back until the beginning of season 5 but how are they going to fit everything in? Still have all the stuff with Tyrion left.

That episode was great though, some proper action and great visuals. The giants and mammoths were really well done.
