Ebay Seller Cancelled Transaction

    Hey,

I'm after winning an auction on eBay Germany. I contacted the seller during the auction, asking them if they would ship Ireland. They stated that they would not, so I decided to use the address of a parcel forwarding company (similar to Parcel Motel) as my shipping address. After I won the auction, the seller asked to cancel the deal stating that they only deal with German customers. However, I feel that they are seeking to break the contract as the item sold quite cheaply.

Does the seller have grounds to cancel the sale? Should I just accept the cancellation and move on?

    Thanks.

When entering the competition, did the seller explain that it was a competition only for Germans? Was there rules and instructions for this auction?

None. The seller just said that they would only send the item to Germany. When I won the auction, they said they were cancelling it on principal as they already said they wouldn't send it to Ireland.

I've tried to emphasize that we have a contract for the seller to send the item to Germany, but they are refusing because I don't live there. My German is only ok so communication has been somewhat simple.

Ask Ebay ? They have a live chat email link which I've found useful in the past.

Thanks for the reply, but I've since sorted out the issue with the seller. He caved, so I should be getting my item in another few days.

Are you using a courier.? I've often been tempted to buy something heavy off Ebay.de but baulked at organizing a courier.Let us know how you got on.

I used mailboxde.com for a delivery address in Germany. When the parcel arrives you select you choice of delivery method and the cost then depends on the size/weight/insurance of the box. Its all on the website. I'm very happy with how it worked for me.
