I shot a quick 3 minute video earlier on how people screw up their back positions when deadlifting today.

Thought a few folks here might get some use outta it.

Girls are ESPECIALLY bad at overextending.

PS - shout out to Daz for reminding me of this a few months ago.

looking at introducing deadlifting to my routine for a while now and have been put off for so long as ive been worried about messing up my back..ill have a proper look at this soon..deadlifting is pretty much the only main compound workout that i dont do.

nice one Hanley very straight forward and easy to follow. When I was doing deads ages back I was really doing them arseways not brace my abs enough etc. If someone has a bit of an anterior pelvic tilt would you still que them to arch their back setting it up or would they be better to keep a more neutral spine?

Seems I'm arching my back too much.

Nice one for this. Conveniently, deadlifts are later today so I'll work at keeping a flat back for it.

    Cheers.

good video. i am new to deadlifting, so forgive me if inaccurate. But i am presuming a belt would further aid proper form?

Nope. A belt just allows you to get away with not doing it right.

Your body is perfectly capable of establishing good positions, so you should learn how to do it first without any sort of aid.
