we have Fr bullocks to go to the mart when we run out of grass as we wont have silage for them for the winter, they are getting 1kg of meal at grass at the minute, hope to weigh them on the weekend. some will be near 2 years at time of sale.
what price can I expect to get for them at the end of the summer?
What would be the best month to sell in?
What meal should I be feeding?(at the minute still on weanling meal):o
and what would you recommend that I can add to them to have them looking well at time of selling. thanks
    EITA:)

    Why give them any meal?
Is the gain in weight/condition rewarded
    Grass should be eneought
Imo you are just working for the next man
If you are tight on grass then give them something bulky cheep and cheerful.

Ps my confidence in 2 yr old fr bullocks in in back end is low as their will be a lot of them round going overage and all that sorta thing
I have a bunch here that I am in fear of what I will have to take when killing in early 15 and couldn't justify pumping meal in at the stage their at now

IMO Fresians spit into two groups at end of year those above 500kgs and those below it. Those above 500kgs sell well and usually the further above the better they sell. If they will be only 400kgs or slightly above I be selling while there is still grass around some farmers that buy them look at this as an opportunity to put on cheap weight before housing or wintering.

Unless grass is very good with cattle that are heavy you would want to be sure that they do not go back in wet weather, neither do you want to be in a mart when there is a rush to sell
