wrapping slab around chimney

We.ve our air tight membrane laid out on the inner leaf of our build awaiting slab delivery early next wk. My question is how do I wrap the slab around the chimney and make this portion of the house airtight? The slab runs across the chimney with a hole cored out for the flue and sits on the inner leaf. If I place the membrane slightly down the inner leaf of the chimney and tape it to the wall with siga tape this will not be airtight as the inner leaf of the chimney wall will not be plastered and therefore there will be a break in the airtight line! Or does this really matter around the chimney given that chimney is filled with vermiculite? Sorry - hope this makes sense!
