Can't be backing a Joseph O'Brien horse with the form he and his father are in so far this year. Tarfsha for me looks a very decent ew bet at 5/1 though. Not convinced it is quick enough to win, but I think it stays.

Fancies in the other races to come.

Tarfasha was pricewised. You'll get the pricewise price at 8.30

If you can manage to get a bet on with them  Ladbrokes are 6/1 Tarfasha and paying 1/4 the odds first 4. She's my idea of the winner anyway.

Was hoping that Ryan Moore might have kept the ride on Marvellous. Joseph is a bit of a 3 pound penalty for her.

Gone for Venus De Milo @ 7/2 in the Saval Beg. Should appreciate the step up in trip.

Plus he has got a horrible draw backed him during the week but i am not as confident now.

Strongly fancy Tarfasha in the Oaks myself.

Big move for Tarfasha in the last hour, she'll go off 4/1 fav if this keeps up, Marvellous quite weak.

I am looking at thistle bird and gregorian. Also Rossom put up that is the spirit last day and he looked a very good horse.

Think he's quite special but too short at odds on given that unique nature of Epsom. O'Meara said he could be the best he's ever trained.

Is Smullen coming back from Epsom to ride Sinkal in the 8.35?

Looks like it, same for Joseph.

Just the judge in the 1st at epsom. Going to give her one last chance, drifted 3's out to 6's first time out this year so probably wasnt fully ready. Great form early last year until going off the hob in the 2nd half of the season. Could be a cut above these

Love the pedigree, Teofilo putting a bit of true grit into an oh so nearly family.

Pity about Galileo Rock dying this year, another one of her nearly siblings.

Marsh Daisy looks value at 16/1, especially since a few firms are paying four places.

Backing Mango Diva for a place here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,205 ✭✭✭Gringo180

Have went with Luca Cumani's filly Volume in the Oaks with a small each way bet on the nicely bred Momentus who is way over priced @ 66/1.

I'm thinking better than a place.

    Horses for courses. Thistle Bird.

A lot of people thinking the same it seems.

Tarfasha wins the Oaks as the ground is coming right for her.

4/1 seems short though so i might leave her at that price and instead go for Dazzling e/w at 40/1.

Mango Diva didn't have a single gap there. One to watch nto in my opinion

A better jockey on Just The Judge and she would of been a lot closer there. Spencer is a clown.

Am I going mad or is Sennockian Star ridiculously overpriced in the 2:10

It's a very competitive handicap though, all 12 have a s good shout and the draw isn't ideal, decent price though.

Missed the first race and the coverage. Any word on what the ground is like today? Did James Doyle say anything about it in his interview?

Missed it myself but did catch him saying the ground is "super" or something along those lines.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,351 ✭✭✭✭Harry Angstrom

It's pointless asking a winning jockey what the ground is like. He'll always say it's perfect.

Think I will take both her and Palace e/w and avoid the short ones.

Dried out to good ground after a dry night.

Surely 2.45 Epsom Gregorian 5/2 will have too much class for the opposition in his quest to win this for the 2nd year running? Nice enough sized bet for me.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,641 ✭✭✭andyman

Yep, has to be Gregorian for me too. C+D vital and weaker field than last year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,028 ✭✭✭TheMilkyPirate

Have backed Gregorian but I fear Graphic who looks steadily progressive.

    Seriously impressive from French Navy.

Greg shaped as if he needed the run. Disappointing all the same.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,641 ✭✭✭andyman

    Kirby's done remarkably well there.

Dunno what happened to Gregorian. He looked to be travelling a dream and just found nothing.

    6.30 Leopardstown

    Breathe Easy 11/1

Sabrina Harty's unexposed 4 year old has won his last two starts (dead heated LTO) and I think he's got a great chance of bringing up his hat trick to take his career record to 3-5. After showing definite promise in his 2 starts, Breathe Easy scored at the third time of asking in a Maiden at Dundalk from a couple of subsequent next time out winners over just shy of 11f back in February. Given a few months off the freshen up, Breathe Easy made his handicap debut off a mark of 68 in a better contest than this (top weight rated 87) where he and Ger Lyons' lightly raced 3 year old Azurite dead heated with the pair 3L clear of the remainder. Last month at the Curragh over 10f in a contest against a couple of 3 year olds, Breathe Easy raced with the choke out a bit from the front and having looked to have made a decisive move a furlong or so out as he quickened clear of the field but it certainly looked as if he was feeling his slight freeness late in the contest as Azurite came with a late lunge to join him on the line for a share of the spoils. It was still a really good effort on just his 3rd start giving 15lb weight for age allowance away and a 6lb rise definitely seems very fair to me. Given the freeness he raced with last time, the application of a first time hood could work wonders for this horse described by Sabrina Harty as "mentally unstable" and although the trainer never having a winner at Leopardstown is a slight concern it's not a deal breaker for me. From a good draw in stall 5, I'm hoping Breathe Easy can either attempt to make all or just sit in behind the leaders and hopefully he can come home in front at a nice price.

Is there a reason why Taghrooda is such a drifter today .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,370 ✭✭✭rossom

In addition to Tarfasha, having a small e/w on Dazziling 50/1 in the Oaks. May have had an off day behind the former when a well backed fav at Naas last month. Seamie won the Oaks on Was back in 2012 when she was an outsider.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,351 ✭✭✭✭Harry Angstrom

Probably as a result of the weight of money for Tarfasha.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,702 ✭✭✭tryfix

Honor Bound EW. A great prospect.

    Hoping it's a Marvellous day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 321 ✭✭Gatame

Thinking about putting two large bets on Marvellous and Tarfasha to place. 4/5 and 10/11. What you reckon? same bets are 8/15 on PP so I think those prices have to be value.. (4 places)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,368 ✭✭✭naughto

    not at them prices

    who won?

Very, very impressive by Taghrooda. Was she odds on or evens at one stage or am I making that up?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,641 ✭✭✭andyman

Well, Taghrooda has just trounced all of them
