Hey ladies just wondering if anyone out there can help me.
So I ordered my dress back n October and it recently arrived in the shop.... but it is faulty and went back to the suppliers. .. since I have had a few problems with the dress and have had to try it on sooo many times for proof photos etc.. i now feel it is not even "the" dress anymore. I am getting married in august and i really need to find a new dress but don't have time to order a brand new dress. Can anyone tell me how to proceed ... If you know of any good sample sale shops. Etc it would be much appreciated. Thank you ☺

You poor thing, that sounds really stressful and can totally understand how you'd change your mind after going through all that.

Don't worry though, you will be grand!! There are sample sales on all the time, lots of places you can buy off the shelf and there are some great dresses available in the charity shops. Now that you've been through the rigour and know what you like and don't like, you'll probably be able to make a decision much quicker than you did the first time. I was talking to a girl Wednesday whose getting married in August, already had a dress she didn't like, and got a new one for dirt cheap in a sample sale at the weekend. She showed me a pic and it's fab, and fits her perfect. I got a Jenny Packham in the Anabel Rose sample sale in Jan - reduced from €3,100 to €450! Alternations took 3 days and cost €120. I need to get it cleaned but other than that, good to go. So you will be fine...and look amazing!!

Next steps I would say would be to google sample sales, ring up some shops. Then make appointments with Oxfam and Barnardos bridal - most of their dresses are ex sample stock too. Also, remember back to when you were trying on dresses and if there were any brands or styles you liked, and look up second hand sales sites, you could find some right bargins! Also, check out the High St - Debenhams, House of Fraser, Harvey Nicholls all have really good bridal sections, not all dirt cheap mind, but some really good stock.

Hopefully you'll find it fun and a lot less stressful than your original experience. What you have gone through is exactly the reason I decided to go the "off the shelf" route in the first place.

If you need recommendations for a good alternations place, give me a shout!

Not sure where you are in the country but Belleza Bridal in Clondalkin, Dublin only do off the rack dresses - whats in the shop, is whats available, no ordering needed :)

Best of luck! I'm sure you will find your 'the one' dress!

I can recommend Memories on Parliament Street in Dublin (think they have a shop in Cork too - not sure where you are!) - I bought my dress there! The girls are so incredibly helpful, and everything is off the rack. Worth a look for sure!

Another shout out for memories in parliament Street, beautiful dresses and very helpful advice. They have samples and preworn dresses and they are stunning. Also smartbrides in portlaois are all samples and sold off the rack or made up. All dresses under a grand and have heard great things about it. Definitely check out shops doing sample sales, bought mine for a third of the original price and it's fab if I do say so myself! Good luck!
