I have a case cx36, its a mini excavator, with boom and blade. ita approx. 1996.
I have a crack on a cap on the hydraulic system.
I have trawled through the case website for parts, see the link below: (might be useful as a sticky?)

    http://partstore.casece.com/us/casepartstore/parts-search.html#epc::mr54310ar244747

anyway I cant find the part that I want on the drawing, so in up the creek with no part number, as I was going to order from Mcadams in Ballymount.

does anyone know where theres one of these being broken?
Its possible the part may be used in other machines also, but I don't know that much about them.
to describe what it is, the unit is a case approx 120mm x 120mm x 150mm high. there is a cap on the top which is removable by 4 bolts/Allen keys. there is a pipe coming from the oil tank into the top of the cap, which is screwed in to position. there is three pipes coming out of the side of the casing, which go to the track control.
the top cap is cracked, across the middle, and if I tighten it, it may split and I wont be able to move the machine at all.
    I have a picture attached.
Is it a pilot valve by any chance?
    thanks

Can you make one. Id get either a piece of thick aluminum stock or flat steel. drill and tap longer bolts and away you go

Is it the removable cap thats cracked? Disregard the above if its the body.

yes, just the cap is cracked. the body is fine. never thought of making one. I could manage that with the right thread and taps etc. will look into it. don't know why I dint think of that myself.
    what about the seal?

would prefer to bolt a replacement on all the same.

    thanks

would the alum be strong enough?

Half inch aluminium would be easy to work. Get a sheet of gasket paper and trace from old one. You could use loctite rtv hi temp silicone, it resists oil and hi temp. Youd have one made faster than chasing one down.

Get a piece of steel sheet about 5-6mm thick, grind/plasma to shape and drill the holes and tap it. Bobs your uncle. If I had that come into the workshop, it would be done and out again well under the hour - an easy copy. I thought you'd be showing pics of some fancy chromed cap tbh!
