    Anyone else heard of this?

I've just been reading about it here, sounds and looks like a proper C&C RTS, the likes of which havent been seen or heard of since the demise of Westwood studios.

There's a beta signup on the site above too, might be worth a looksee :)

It's due out late this year and wont be available to console peasants :P

    Thank you!

I read about this a while ago and then it slipped my mind completely. I won't sign up for the beta though - my dual core just can't cut it.

    :)

Just been reading up about the developers of this, and apparently they ARE westwood! lol

According to this these are the holdouts that didn't join EA when they(westwood) were bought out back in the day.

And another video, interview with oneof the devs and some footage of the ui and gameplay

Out tomorrow. Apparently there is an embargo on reviews until tomorrow. Does anyone know the word on the street? looking for something different to play but I can't be bothered with the stress of multiplayer RTS. If this has a good enough campaign then I might pick it up for a change of pace.

It has a page on steam and I found the price on their forums: UK/US = £30/$50 but no EU price listed

Plenty of time to decide after the release whether it's any good or not.

TBH though, an RTS would have to be seriously **** for me not to be interested.

Launch trailer looked really good, but it does not look great gameplay wise. Just looks very stiff, if that makes any sense.

I will look in to it anyway.

C&C 3 was the last time I attempted to play an RTS and I guess a lot has changed since then. The hope with this game is that it is a return to the pace of the original C&C games so it might be hard to filter out the reviewers that are biased towards the more modern RTS style who might find grey goo boring.

The embargo on reviews is worrying though...it could just be a bad game

    i really hope it's not :/

Cheapest price was on G2A.com but only found out after it sold out. It's €45 on steam and €40 on humble store.

I'm gonna tune in deg :D 45 seems a bit steep for this.

enjoying it so far, it's not as good as ardennes assault for COH2 but i like it so far anyway

Played a bit more this morning, the beta campaign was good but short, the human campaign was dull and the base building was a pain in the ass.

I was hoping for a c&c type of base building rts, but nope.. ridiculously over-complex, build 3 sub-buildings in proximity to one large building in the right order to build a tank.. by the time i'd figured it out i'd run out of resources to build the fcuken things. pain in the ass, and cba with learning the buildings, it could have been straightforward and been a decent RTS, but that ruined the whole experience for me.

played a few hours there. enjoying playing a rts for the first time in years. 15 missions is very stingy though no?? total annihilation had like 50. C&C red alert had 28. unless the later missions are really really long or something?

another few hours in, i'm starting to think this game is pretty awesome. i love the way you have three factions, one for each rts playstyle, goo for rushers, humans for turtlers, and beta for all rounders.

What's the final verdict on the campaign for this?

I'm not hugely interested in the multiplayer so €45 for a 15 mission campaign and some skirmishes against the AI seems a bit on the steep side of things.

i've only 4 missions left, i reckon in total you're looking at about 10-15 hours of gameplay there. some of them are proper hard though, you will need to replay a good few times. but yeah, 15 missions is kind of lame for that price.

the amount of multiplayer maps is really lazy too, there's only 7 or eight in total, although there is a map editor.

i don't think this problem is specific to this game though, seems like all games nowadays are only half a game with the rest to come in a DLC. sad really.

    Hi Guys,

Can you play Skirmish maps against the AI similar to C&C Zero hour?

What's your feeling on the game now?

    Thanks

Thank you, good to know, I'll do just that.

C&C was great, I still play Zero hour against the AI with Skimish mode. Put three of four on hard and you get a decent game. Its a great LAN game too. Works on really old laptops too which is nice..
