and it has the german plug. Is it okay to use the plug end of my laptop charger or will I just use one of those converter plugs that has normal prongs on the opposite end? It's a 500w Corsair PSU.

Laptop charger cable, Kettle Cable etc both less messy than adapter. My Old PC's might end up in the recycling centre but I always hold onto the PSU cables for just this reason.
