George Jung (who's life was immortalised in the 2001 film Blow, starring Johnny Depp as Jung) has been released from Fort Dix Federal Correctional Facility, New Jersey, after serving 20 years of a 60-year sentence. In 1994, he had been arrested in possession of over 790kg of cocaine.

Known as "Boston George", Jung was one of the biggest players in the drug trade in the United States from the 1960's up to the 1990's, starting off with dealing in marijuana before graduating to smuggling cocaine into the States from the Medellín Cartel in Colombia. Jung was a smuggler for Pablo Escobar in his prime.

Serious business man. To climb to the heights of what he did considering where he came from was nothing short of impressive. Good to see him released :)

There's a fair amount of wealthy drug dealers here in Ireland. It's great, isn't it?

None that have ever reached his height. None that ever will either.
Why would it be great anyway!?

No human should have to spend 20 years behind bars for any reason.... apart from murder and a few other heinous crimes when not under the influence off drink or drugs!

20 years is a fair amount of time to spend in prison I would say, at least in George Jung's case. As far as drug trafficking/smuggling goes, I think 20 years is good enough. Although maybe 60 years was over doing it, but 20 is fine.

I know the movie was dramatised and all that but i did feel sorry for the guy at the end when
he looks round the room at all his old mates and realises they all screwed him over and he was screwed

I don't know why you quoted me in that case.
