Hi everyone. Just a quick but maybe silly question.
I am looking to change my car and I spotted a 04 today but I think the nct may be faked.. it was tested in 2013 and expires in 2015 but I thought it should have been tested in 2012 and expire this year?

It's possible. If the previous test was due to expire in the first 3 months of 2014 then the car could have been tested in 2013 as you can do the test 3 months early. The current test expires in 2015 as the car must now be tested yearly due to being 10 years old.

If you have the numberplate you can check when the nct is due.

Sorry I should have said the car was tested in April 2013 and expires April 2015

If car was imported, then on 2004 car NCT due 2013 and 2015 could be perfectly normal.

Then they got a two year cert for a nine year old car when it was tested last year.

What was it's date of first registration?

Should the car not have been tested at 8 years old or if it was tested at 9 years old it would have been back dated?

The seller never mentioned that the car was imported. Is it something they should tell me about?
