You'll get the cheapest sets online (but beware of shipping, it will add up quickly)

As for Dublin in specific, I'm not sure but it can't hurt to look. Just remember, you don't need a lot of weights, just get a few that you're comfortable with, then when you're ready to move up you can get more. Just take your time and don't lift weights that are too heavy. Proper form is the most important thing when lifting weights.

Something like this could work well for a beginner. Its possible to buy additional plates to go with this set when you want to move up in weight.

    Avoid the vinyl weights.

durability and size. Vinyl weights wear out eventually and are bigger which means that they take up more room on the bar reducing the total weight you can have on the bar.

Good for records, not so good for weights.

Some vinyl kits also come with hollow barbells and crappy plastic spinlocks (the big nuts that hold the weights on). The hollow bar will start to bend past around 60kg.

If you have the money now I would look at a 50kg barbell kit, as buying a barbell later is expensive, unless you have no room for it.

The argos kits is a decent enough price, but when comparing note it is only 15kg, most are 20kg kits. It also has lots of small plates, they can be fiddly but also take up precious room. Most 20kg kits come with some 2.5kg plates.

This one is not too bad, there are no small 0.5kg weights in it. I would prefer this, but some might want small ones depending on the routine/program they are following.

delivery is free from them to ireland.

Adverts or done deal. Look for a metal set.
