    Not necessarily a major leak. A small amount of refrigerant is lost over time particularly from the compressor seal if the system is left unused for long periods of time. A leak check and a top up of refrigerant might be all it needs. My ac was hit and miss lately I topped it up with a can from Halfords, it only took a small amount and it has been working perfectly since.
