    It is not Enda.

The word compassion does not exist in their dictionary.

But I will give it to them.

    I hope he gets better.

But I wonder at how many are in a worse position in dealing with medical bills for cancer because of FG and FF?

Irrespective of my political beliefs, I wish him the very best and I hope he makes a full recovery.....I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone....

I just wish they would chemo the **** out of the cancer in Irish politics.

Frog: : Jesus doc ,I've a boil on me arse.

People that wish genuine ill health on elected public representatives are scum.

Criticise their policies not their personal health.

FFs. Ah is starting to resemble the gutter press. Between this tripe and people quoting daily mail articles. I seriously have to wonder. Have all the educated decent people emigrated.

Michael Noonan seems to be plagued with personal ill fortune, his wife became ill very young with Alzheimers and died in 2012 after spending her last few years in a nursing home being cared for. He spent several years combining being a TD with caring for her.

Is he still capable of doing the job?

Wasn't that Brian Lenihan riddled with cancer when he f%&ked the country up for the next 500 years? Didn't he admit afterwards that he probably should have stepped down?

Ah ffs, this shouldn't have been remotely politicised if it doesn't affect his work. Best of luck and recovery to him, hope it was caught in time to be now rendered harmless.

I wish It were Enda that was removed.

I never said I was not using it to push an agenda. I am and openly so.

    I am not pious.

I don't buy in to the false dichotomy of it is either one way of the other.

I don't give people the infallibility of illness.

I don't think the fact that he has cancer means that we cannot question how he has affected others with cancer.

Him being ill does not give him an infallibility on this issue.

My compassion is genuine. Really. But I am also angry with him and what this govt has done.

It would be like me saying my brother /sister has cancer so you don't have the right to say what you do above. Which would be wrong.

Noonan has cancer and he is in a better position to have it treated than he has left a lot of others in. His salary is paid for by the people he has left in a worse position for.

I'm sorry he has cancer. The stress he must be under must be savage. If his family were reading this I know they would understandably be upset. But bet he was not on a waiting list to have his treatments delt with also he might have a complimentary medical card.

He aggressively pursued a dying woman, Bridget McCole, to the grave for medical fees after her daughter contracted Hepatitis C as a result of negligence by State bodies. I'm sure he did not hate the woman nor did he wish her illness but he did it.

Yet we cannot point out the difference when the elites get ill?

    Everyone should have healthcare.

Jaysus. Levels of animosity have reached new depths. Not even a thread about a man having cancer can go by without malicious shots being fired.

Wonder does he have a medical card?.....

    Is Noonan "riddled" with cancer?

Maybe not but he is most likely suffering from some pain and discomfort, most people would take time off work for rest and recuperation because they would not consider themselves fit for work.

    Strangely I'm not convinced.

It could be said any time, but there's something extremely bitter about bringing it up in the context of someone actually having cancer. Also, "they don't have compassion" is just a stupid, pointless thing to say.
Yeh they would get all those perks, which isn't right but I dunno... it just seems grotesque to throw them back at him when he is actually being treated for cancer.
I don't believe in a false dichotomy either - e.g. the "You must be a blueshirt" cat-call which defence of him in this case will possibly yield. I've never voted FG. I just take the man out of politics and view him as a human being in this instance though. Same with the late Brian Lenihan, and I loathe FF and did so long before the tide turned against them.

    He released a statement himself.

He probably felt he should rather than have it come out.

After it goes into the public domain people are free to comment as they will.

    And they have.
People that wish genuine ill health on elected public representatives are scum.

Criticise their policies not their personal health.

No one I have seen has wished ill health on anyone on social media that I have seen. But there are people who are very angry at what this govt has done to the health service and what this has done to their loved ones. And they are free to comment.

When people give out about anyone receiving medical cards etc as receiving free things they are also politicizing someone's health.

When this govt affected negative change on the healthcard system THEY POLITICIZED people's health.

There are families that HAVE had their health politicized in a much more serious way than Mr Noonan has and he has continued to aggressively pursue cuts.

He is not the worst in Govt but he is a part of it.

I am sure he felt genuinely for the people he was affecting. But there you go.
