    Hi,
I hope i am posting this in the correct section of the tech forums.

Anyway i am looking for a flatbed scanner that can scan direct to USB. Most of my searches on Google seem to come back with a 3 in one printer scanner option with a card reader.
Cant seem to find a stand alone flatbed scanner that will scan independently to a USB drive.

Any body come across any thing like this?

    Thanks in advance.

I have an Epson stand alone which can scan to file and the file can be on any location accessible from the computer.

Just reread your post, are you looking for a scanner which doesn't require connection to a computer to perform the scan?

Solo scanners tend to be higher end models these days. You pay more for them than a 3-1 in most cases. Granted the flat beddedness of it all

Will the 3-in-1 with SD card scan to the card or just print from it? Scan to card then USB card adapter into PC when required would be my choice.

Is space an issue, that you prefer a flatbed?

its for people who might not be that tech savy to use and are already custom to using the flatbed scanners. also don't want to go down the 3 in 1 route.....
