For an intoduction to gaming. I'd say the main games would be call of duty, battlefield and fifa; maybe watch dogs. CPU is a i7 920.

Don't mind going second hand. What would be the best option. It seems impossible to choose. The options are looking like:

    r7 240 - 4gb ddr3 or 1 gb ddr5
    r7 250 - 2gb ddr3 or 1 gb ddr5
    6670 - 1gb ddr5 or 2gb ddr3
    gt 630 - 4gb ddr3 or 1 gb ddr5
    gt 640 - 2gb ddr3
    7730 - 2gb ddr3
    geforce gtx 560 - 1gb (preowned)
    hd 5850 - 1gb (preowned)
    gt 630 - 2gb ddr3 (€40) preowned

All are pretty much the same price except the last one would that be any good. Would like to keep as cheap as possible.

Also would like to keep as quiet + less power hungry as possible.

According to this my 'minimum psu wattage' without a graphics card is 194 watts and my psu is the cx 430 (80+ bronze).

Will be buying in the next few months, will there be any big improvement in graphics cards in this price range?

What resolution is your monitor? I would add another 40 euro to your budget and get the 260x. Those graphics cards above are awful.e.

Have a look at this site.

You would really want one thats rated higher than 2500.

The monitor is 1080p with dvi and vga. I don't need anything insane, having come from just playing fifa and COD on the xbox, but want to give pc gaming a go.

This looks very good for the price according to the website, but unfortunately is more then I am willing to spend. The r7 250 looks like the best bet, followed by the 6670. What resolution and setting would I be looking at on cod and battlefield?

Thanks a million for that link by the way, thought they only had it for cpu's ;)

You should run 1080p resolution on a 1080p monitor, anything else will look pretty bad. You want at least medium quality for BF4 settings, low looks terrible.

I agree with yawhat, your initial gpu picks are too weak. If you go for a used card, 1 GB ram may not cut it anymore for new games. 2 GB would be fine for 1080p.

Your looking at the low settings and turning down the resolution to get it playable. cheap graphics cards are pretty horrible.

Have a look here for Battlefield 4

See if you can pick a 7770 for cheap, I wouldn't go below this.

Out of those, the 5850, GTX560 or R7 250 are passable, rest are too slow.

You're better off adding an extra 20 euro for at least a 7770, or else add 40 ideally for the very capable GTX750 which can be gotten for 100 euro.

I wouldn't rate the R7 250 as acceptable. Only30 fps in BF4 at medium settings. Doesn't even hit 60 fps at low.

I meant acceptable in terms of having a strict €60 budget. There's only so much you can do with it.
