Aussie Alvey Gear; Great to Get Your Hands On

    Alvey gear rocks, if you can get your hands on a reel try it. Not just for Aussies! I've been using one in the US and ready to try it in Ireland later this month. Simplicity itself, and if you drop the reel in the mud or sand, no bother - run it under a tap later. Ideal for beach, estuary conditions, night work too. Interesting mix of centre pin and fixed spool reel technology.

    I use it with an Alvey tele surf rod. Never seen them for sale in Ireland fishing shops though. Online is your best bet. Got mine here: http://www.alveyusa.com/
