Too much mileage on a Skoda??

A friend is thinking of buying a 2009 1.9 TDI PD 103Bhp Skoda Superb in the U.K.

However the mileage is 141,000 miles with service history and replaced Clutch/Flywheel.

Questions:

1. Is this too much mileage if he intends to re-sell it?
2. What would be a reasonable price for the above in Ireland on Irish plates?

I'm surprised it can move with 103bhp in a car that size nvm do 140k miles in 5 years.

Would really need 140bhp+

I'd personally avoid, especially if hoping to sell on.

As said very high and near impossible to sell anything with 100k or more here.

80 or 90 be much better or less if can be got.

Only way I would be getting something like that would be a keeper

My dad had one in 2009 for three and a half years the exact same, 1.9TDi 105. Never had a days bother with it bar the day it was delivered with a loose air con pipe.

He racked up 210,000Km/130,000 Miles in that time and the car took it in its stride, it was still going strong. It sold for near 12K in 2013 even with that mileage.

I'd recommend one anyway, I wouldn't be too worried about the mileage as it was more than likely a Sales Rep's car like my dad's and so should have been well taken car of.

If the mileage is reflected in the price and it has a complete service history then I wouldn't have a problem going for it.

Also the reason they are selling it would be a factor (e.g. if they just had no good reason or a suspicious sounding one I would suspect something expensive is acting up (Flywheel/Turbo)

You could get one with low mileage that could be a complete lemon.

The second aerial on the roof would suggest it was some sort of minicab or PSV. If the object is to buy it and sell it on quickly then I wouldn't bother as most people over here will only pay small money for high mileage cars. If it's going cheap and the plan is to drive it till it dies then it's doable, the new clutch and flywheel is a bonus, should have had the last timing belt changed at around 120k miles too.
