WLAN signal, but no ADSL - O2 modem

I just connected a modem for someone to their O2 service.

The WLAN light comes on, but not the ADSL light.

When I put the password into my iPhone, it connects with full strength signal, but nothing will download to it.

In Safari I only get the message that Safari is not connected to the internet

Any ideas?

Did they have a previous modem and did that one work ? Or is it a new connection to O2?

You may have to enter the O2 DSL settings into the modem if it's new to be able to connect to the O2 service.

Its most lilely the line isn't jumpered or the OP connected it wrong(reversed filter).

If you have a phone and modem at the sme socket you need to use a splitter, this has a bias. If you connect the phone to the modem side and modem to phone side you'll get a dial tone but no dsl.

Anyways, call o2, they can sort it out.

Quite possible I did that because we did get a dial tone and a wifi connection, but no ADSL, as I said.

Will try it later.
