Last minute holiday home rentals in Ireland?

Are there any sites that show last minute holiday home rental rates in Ireland?

I have have to take my holidays to take the week after next and would rather stay in Ireland, but not at the rates quoted on the websites im looking at. They seem to be the same whether you book far in advance or not.

It looks like its much cheaper to travel abroad for a holiday than to rent a holiday home in Ireland. Unless there is such a thing as last minute deals.

We once went to Cork/Waterford for a 2 week break and were dissappointed at the cost of everything. The only advantage was the ability to cut short and drive home in an emergency as my Dad was ill at the time but the house was very substandard, the local eateries were very expensive and the cost of everything was much more than if we had gone to the likes of Spain, Portugal etc. Not as dear but no way as good as France.

My native Galway is sheer robbery and as a result I have not been there on any break for 10 yrs. Kerry always has a reputation for being expensive, your best bet might be up north but the marching season may put a damper on that. If I were free to travel right now I would go for the likes of Cavan, Enniskillen, Derry DOnegal etc where the Northern cheaper prices may make it more worthwhile. Pub prices and meal prices in the Republic are way too high for my taste and there are often no alternatives if you don't have access to a good kitchen in your accommodation

Yeah I think we'll just go to France. a flight to France, hire a car and self catering there.
All in (flights, accom, car hire) it works out much cheaper than just the price of the holiday home in Ireland.
Its actually more expensive to take the car to France than fly hire.

We kinda wanted to stay in Ireland as we have a christening to go to in the middle of it, but the world wont end if we miss the christening.

All done. Booked flights to France, car hire for a week and a couple of different villas to stay in as we travel for the week.
All came to less than the cost of a B&B, Hotel or self catering in Ireland. I dont know why I bother even thinking about taking holidays in Ireland anymore.
