Just home from work and turned on 'Radio 1 through the night' as usual.
The last half hour has been Christmas music and nothing else.
    Am I missing something?

Same here, I actually checked here to see if anyone else noticed.

I am not the greatest sleeper and sometimes have radio 1 on on the clock radio and like to pick up on the news. Surprised to hear constant music with loads of Christmas and religious songs included.

And just now heard a repeated song from earlier! So it seems to possibly be rollover music.

I noticed before that sometimes they repeat the previous days radio programmes at weekends and sometimes not.

RTE radio 1 is so inconsistent, some great programmes like the early morning Weekend On 1 and then they produce crap like this that a child on a PC would do better.

Yep. Just heard Silent Night in Irish for the second time.
They must have some stuff on a loop for bank holidays and put on the Christmas one instead of the June one.
Can't switch over until a 'live' presenter arrives to explain it.

Thousands of staff and a licence fee and they still can't manage to get the overnights to work....

    How strange...

No 6am news bulletin either. And the Weekend on One should have started a few minutes ago, but they're still playing what sounds like Christmassy elevator music.

LOL!! Short apology from Cathal Murry at 6:18 about 'festive gremlins'.

Weird happenings in the newsroom as well this morning. The top headline at 9am was corruption allegations involving FIFA and the 2022 World Cup. The story wasn't even mentioned on their 11am news bulletin.

You mean you havent brought everyone their presents yet?

I've no friends so I had a couple of Brandys on my own instead.
Things seem to be back to normal tonight: Declan Neary live followed by news and usual bank holiday programming.

This is not acceptable - if Newstalk did this they would loose their licence.....unforgiveable and insulting to the tax payer..

Strange to hear the death of some old dear from the Brady bunch making the main news bulletins this morning. I should be old enough to remember and I can't ever recall seeing the Brady Bunch on RTE television.

I've just read that The Brady Bunch housekeeper has died. I used to like her. She was the only character that you could see smoking a fag and drinking a bottle of whiskey.

To whom? Maybe you should write a strongly worded letter to Minister Rabbitte.

If Newstalk did this they would loose their licence.....

    Would they fúck.

Unforgiveable and insulting to the tax payer..

The tax payer has endured enough insults indeed.

Jingle Bells in June must surely be the final straw.

You can put that in your letter if you want.

It's getting past a joke now!

edit: Looks like somebody spotted it this time.
