Questioned as part of an investigation. Not the subject of the investigation

They take this sort of thing very seriously in the US. If true it could be jail time for him.

Before heads fly .... "Phil is not the target of any investigation. Period," said Phil's lawyer, Glenn Cohen.

He might be involved in the investigation but probably is not the target.

Looks like it's more than a peripheral involvement:

Federal investigators are looking into whether Mickelson and Mr Walters may have traded illegally on private information...

...And about a year ago, FBI officials approached Mickelson at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, asking the celebrity golfer to discuss his trading; the Times cited its sources as saying.

Well I'm sure it will be interesting to see what happens. Full copy of the story here http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/05/30/fbi-sec-icahn-mickelson_n_5421065.html

Also interested to see if this topic can be discussed on this forum. After all, a precedent has just been set in another thread where it was said that discussions must be solely golf related.

Never liked him since he dissed Irish women back in 1991

"Asked by a TV reporter on Thursday to comment on a replay that showed him hitting out of the rough near the gallery during that morning's play, Mickelson chuckled and said, "That's not a place I want to be. The Irish women are not that attractive.

Especially since I was a spectator (female) at that Walker Cup:(

No, a precedent was set that we won't allow comments about someone getting fat or being a money grabbing grabbing bitch, but thanks for playing.
I'd you wish to discuss further, take it to pm.

Great golfer but not a good guy. I'd love to post what I know about him but it wouldn't end well.

So Ichan was going to buy a company, he tipped the gambler who tipped Phil (allegedly), who bought the share contracts just before the buyout and made a 600% return.

Not exactly looking good, even if he doesn't get convicted he's a complete jackass for making a blatant move like that, it wasn't a lucky guess.

They wanted Phil to crack and be the proof to take down the other two, looks like he's not going to be the one though.

They nabbed him on a plane and at the golf tournament for a reason, scare the sh!t out of him

This is typical media BS trying to create a mountain out of a molehill.

If you emphasise the right word in this quote you'll see he wasn't being at all insulting. ""That's not a place I want to be. The Irish women are not THAT attractive."
